General Membership meeting
Please join us for our February General Membership meeting on 2/10/19 at 2:00 at the BBP Library.
Although
no battles were fought on Long Island, the Civil War deeply affected
all of its residents. More than three thousand men answered the call to
preserve the Union. Local women raised thousands of dollars for Union
hospitals, and Long Island companies manufactured uniforms, drums, and
medicines. Please join the Bayport Blue Point Heritage Association as we
welcome local author Bill Bleyer for a presentation on this fascinating
story, from the polarizing 1860 presidential campaign to the wartime
experiences of Long Islanders on the battlefield and at home. A book
signing will follow. All are welcome to attend.

With sympathy....
It is with sympathy and great sadness that we mourn
the passing of Barbara Sherman. She was diagnosed in September with
Pancreatic Cancer. Barbara was a long time docent at Meadow Croft and
was always willing to help out whenever we might need her. The BBPHA
sends Barbara's family our love and condolences during this difficult
time. She will be missed.
