on
February 12th, 2017 starting at 2:00.

This talk is a light hearted look at the rich history that is Long Island. Through an examination of the men and women who have lived and worked here we get to see how this island fits into the fabric of our nation's history. From the island the Native Americans called "Paumanauk" to the island the English simply called "Long", the island people have left a past of which we can be very proud.
Long Island has signers of the Declaration of Independence, visits by Washington, Jefferson and Madison.
There are others who have passed through our towns and villages .
Marconi, Edison, Whitman, Wyandanch, Tachapusha, Jupiter Hammon, Harriet Quimby, Teddy Roosevelt, Eleanor Roosevelt, Josiah Warren, Glenn Curtis, Nathan Hale , Goodie Garlick and Leroy Grumman are just few who have walked this island before us.
